Russian doll

I made a little Russian doll brooch to go in my etsy/folksy shop. I really enjoyed doing this and creating her character. I love making new projects and am always looking for the next thing to make!

I have looked a couple of times to see if there are any crafty get togethers in my local area but haven't found any yet-  anybody have any advice on places I can look! Thanks!

Hope you are having a good weekend.

ps my button swap arrived today - I will blog about it as soon as I know Debi has received her parcel!

Easter

Things are getting a little bit Eastery here!
I made some mini paper bunting (like last time, but with an Easter twist!)

Easter baskets for my nephews, I couldn't resist these when I saw them in tesco - i want them myself!

Last weekend we had a picnic on a local hill - it was lovely and green and sunny
I hope the weather continues this weekend so there can be more walks and maybe another picnic!

What are your plans this weekend?

Edited :: I have just realised I never showed you my first lot of paper bunting! Here is is along with my picture corner - which is growing nicely!

Seaside

Wonderful weather saw lots of people travel to the seaside this weekend. Luckily, as early birds, we got to the beach before everyone else had the same idea and could take advantage of the clear beach! I love the seaside and it is a dream to one day live by the sea.

There isn't much opportunity for beach-combing at Weston-super-mare but there were a few tiny shells to be found!

Of course the traditional whippy ice-cream had to be eaten - I was far too keen to eat mine before I took the picture so it is missing it's top! I like mine without the flake, I don't want anything to take away from the lovely ice-cream!

We stopped for a drink and I couldn't help but get a picture standing next to the measurements! Mad grin is because I was trying to be sly so others didn't think I Publish Postwas crazy!!
Hope you  managed to enjoy the sunshine!

Train cake

My brother turns 22 today - so as requested ( a birthday tradition) a train cake was made - each year it has to be better than the last! I think I will need to start planning next years now! go here and here for the last 2 cakes

Below is a little creature I spotted whilst out on a late night walk the other evening! Isn't he lovely - I will have to walk by again to see if any other friends come to join him!

Button chair

We have been redecorating the house and it was the spare rooms turn for a lick of paint. Above you can see the retro end of the room done - a new red wall and repurposed shelving. We managed to fit the spare sofa in there as well, perfect for playing all the retro games!

This is my new craft corner - with added ikea storage!
I love my corner!

Today I finished it all off by upcycling the tired chair. It was a bog standard ikea chair and had been covered in paint and had other scuffs on it from general wear and tear.
A quick white wash and the chair was back to looking good.

I am sure you can guess what I added to the chair to make it a bit more bright and cheery from the title of the post - BUTTON

Just a few photos for you! I love the way it turned out and now fancy making a seat pad for it - maybe crocheted but I am not sure - any ideas?

Apparently there are a few other button chairs out there so I am not the only ridiculous one, always good to know!

Elephants and chilli jam

This little elephant has be hand carved by my very talented dad! I talk to him about my blog and he asks me how many followers I have regularly and what sort of things I have been putting up (he is not at al technologically minded and would not be able to load the internet up on a PC!!) ad how many followers I have - he thought you would all like to see one of his little crafty makes and so here it is in all its glory (well as good as I can get when I take pictures on my phone) I have included an essential bum shot for you all!

He makes many things and I am very lucky to have benefited from his craft with purpose built shelving, hand crafted pigs and wooden picture frames! I will show you all some more things if y0u would like to see (I am trying to persuade him to make a penguin next, seeing as he continually says no to my reindeer suggestions!)

We made Nigella's chilli jam a couple of weekends ago - it is the best I have had - I would recommend it to anyone, very easy to do as well!

London again

A few more London pictures for you! I loved this street with the different coloured houses and the great little yellow car.

More brightly coloured buildings here! Then a trip to m&m world (disappointing though - no exciting flavours - we had to go to cybercandy for that

We wandered out from green park and came across lots of film and catering vans and around a corner we came across all the actors queuing up for their lunch! Apparently they were filming summer in February.

Just had to sneak this one in - I love ice cream and really really want one of the giant ice-cream cones!

London

London started with breakfast at Bill's I had poached egg and spinach on toast (Manny has the picture, I was more interested in eating!) It was a really nice place to eat, the food was very good and the staff were very friendly and for London the price was not too bad!

With Easter around the corner the big egg hunt was on - we only stumbled across 9 in total - I took photos of my favourites (really want to go back to London with the purpose of the trip being to explore more!)

From Covent garden we wandered over to Green park - past fountains and statues!

There was a man who was feeding the squirrels and they would jump up on to his arm - it was amazing!
I was shocked at the amount of wildlife there was in the middle of the city! Around the corner and there was a lake!

We were very lucky with the weather - sunny and warm! Another egg spot or two ...

Did you spot humpty up there? There was a big crowd but most of the people were looking at the guards and not at humpty!!

These are the last few egg photos! I will leave you with these and be back again with a few more photos from the trip!
