New old things

Can you spot the new additions? Well one is very obvious in its lovely aqua colour!

My new petite typewriter - an ebay present from Manny - perfect isn't it!
Oh and you spotted the other new old item a camera - I love the way it looks and it still works - just need to get some film for it.

In with the typewriter, it is case were lots of sheets of paper where someone had practiced there typing  Iris Hart - there are some letters and lovely stories that have been written. I wonder where she is now.

Then at Sundays car boot I spotted another camera - for £3 I couldn't say no! It still has a film in - only 9 pictures taken on it, I will take the rest and see if I can get it developed - it might not work but I will try it!

Jellyfish dangly thing

I spotted a jellyfish over on Kirsty Elson's blog and she puts a tutorial on there of how to make one! I had a go - and I love the result! A wonderful way to spend your Sunday afternoon (well a bit of it anyway!) I predict a few more of these in my future!

How did you spend your Sunday afternoon?

Bright cake

There are many rainbow cakes and multi-coloured cakes all over the internet and I decided it was time I made one!
I split the mixture in to separate bowls and then just dolloped it in to the cake tins!

Then wait patiently (I was not patient in the slightest!) whilst it cooks.

Then more waiting whilst it cools down (again I was not very good at the waiting so I constructed the cake still warm - not a good plan!) It also gives you time to make fillings and toppings!

Then go mad with said toppings and fillings!

Oh and maybe try a slice!

I constructed mine with 2 multi-coloured layers and one chocolate sponge! Chocolate filling and marshmallow icing!

Wooden animals

Do you remember when I showed you a little wood elephant my dad had made? Well here a few more photos of some of the things he has made! He loves hearing what you all think!

A three legged stool, I love the pattern in the wood - I think it looks like an owl

The owl is one of my favourites - so simple and very tactile! Remind me and I will show you the pig I helped make! And lastly, below are some hamster coffins! It all started years ago when we were younger and we had our first pet hamster - unfortunately Fred died and my dad made a little coffin for him from some off-cuts of dado rail, so when last year I got flurry he started making them again.

Bunny hop

Did I show you this lovely bunny cookie jar that my team got me at work for easter? Isn't it wonderful! He currently lives in the craft room holding all sorts of bits and bobs!

And you spotted the tiny cup next to him! I couldn't resist it, it was it the whittards sale for £2! I don't drink coffee or espresso but I am sure I will find a use for it, and anyway who said I can't just look at it!

A couple of outfits!

I thought I would do something new for you (please excuse the very poor pictures - really difficult to take a photo of ourself!) Above is a reindeer dress that my sister and mum got for me from a charity shop, they know of my love for reindeer!

This has been named as my pirate outfit! I love wearing it - it is my curent favourite outfit of choice! Simple black and white striped dress from primark, along with black leggings and a long cardigan. The belt is an old one - I changed it for the skinny red one that came with the dress!

Also please excuse the unmade bed!!!

Below is also one of my first instagram pictures - yes I have jumped on that band wagon and I am enjoying it! I havent even looked at others yet I am just enjoying taking pictures!

Button Bouquet

On my blog travels and internet wanders I have seen lots of button and brooch bouquet, so I thought I would give it a go! It was a lot more difficult than I thought it was going to be! I definitely needed stronger wire! However I really enjoyed making it and may try another soon! There is one bead on there that I really dislike as well so it is going to go!

My sisters is going to a wedding next week and asked if I could make her a some flowers for her hair - here they are! Hope you like them x

Button swap

Look at what a wonderful parcel I received! I was very lucky to take part in noodle bubbles button swap and was partnered with Debi

A lovely card showing some of the buttons I received ( already in a frame on my wall of art!) and a wonderful wall hanging that held all the buttons - how lucky was I!

There was definately more than 50 buttons! Below are a few of my favourite ones - it was very hard to pick just a few! Thank you so much Debi!

Below are the bits I sent

I wrapped all the parcels in blue tissue paper and added a button ribbon!

These are the buttons - I had such fun looking for them all - they caMe from far and wide - can you see the one with the hundreds and thousands in? I want one myself now!

I also made a button brooch and some earrings

and finally a little button bracelet to finish it all off!

What a great swap - I really enjoyed it!

Slippery, sliding, sock snake

All it took was 3 socks, some ribbon and 2 buttons and this little snack was mine!

She is now sat in my crafting room, just popping out to say hi every now and then!

I made it this afternoon after a trip to the car boot  our local one has just started up again (there is an all-year round one but that is a morning one and has more traders that car booters!) It was perfect sunny afternoon for it - however there wasn't much there to interest any of us - I was the only one to come away with anything - some "that's not my .." books and some games - dingbats, operation and ker-plunk!

Back to work tomorrow - but at least it is only a 4 day week!
